"FLASH"

A wolf child lays covered in her bed. Faint moonlight shining through the blinds is all that lights her room. In an instant, a blue flash fills the bedroom. The young girl groggily shifts in bed before a shock wave grips the house and jolts her fully awake. She sits up as a few objects fall from her shelf. By this point the light has dimmed, and the girl peeks through the blinds to see the source of the light. In the distance, over the treeline and where she would expect to see the nearby town, a deep-blue mushroom cloud shines. It is bright to her dreary vision, but the brightness is tempered enough to not hurt the eyes. The wolf looks upon the explosion in wonder. Bright blue sparks emit around the entirety of the cloud. She had learned about the blue bombs in class, but the sight before her is much more grand than the photographs in her school's textbooks.

Before long, the girl's door swings open. It's the girl's frightened mother. "West! Dear, get away from the window!" The mother sweeps her up and carries her to the basement as the young wolf puts up a mild protest.
